UAB Participates in national study of network traffic.

The NLANR intersite Active Measurement Program is intended to improve the understanding of how high performance networks perform as seen by participating sites and users, and to help in problem diagnosis for both the network's users and its providers. .

 

NATIONAL LABORATORY FOR APPLIED NETWORK RESEARCH

 

APPLICATIONS SUPPORT

The distributed applications support team (DAST) is housed at the National Center for Supercomputer Applications (NCSA), located at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.  DAST provides assistance with high performance network applications.

ENGINEERING

The National Center for Network Engineering (NCNE) is housed at the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. NCNE provides in depth support and technical information for connecting to and effectively utilizing high performance networks.

MEASUREMENT

The measurement and operations analysis team (MOAT) is housed at the San Diego Supercomputer center, UCSD.  MOAT conducts performance and flow measurement for high performance computing sites.
