UAB-Email - Configuring the Outlook XP Mail Client using MAPI

If you already have an MAPI account configured, you will need do one of the following:

Delete the old profile and create a new one,
Add a new profile and make the new profile the default, or
Add an new profile and configure Outlook to prompt you at startup as to the profile you wish to use.
Configure TCP/IP and WINS settings

If you are sharing a client with another person, then you will need to create a new profile before beginning the configuration process.

Configuration

Go to the Start Menu and select Control Panels (screenshot)
In the left-hand panel click Other Control Panel Options (screenshot)
Choose Mail (screenshot)
Select E-mail Accounts (screenshot)
Choose Add New Account, then click Next (screenshot)
For Server Type, choose Microsoft Exchange Server then click Next (screenshot)
In the Exchange Server Settings window enter (screenshot)
- Microsoft Exchange Server: uabmsx0.ad.uab.edu
- User Name: "your username"
- You do not need to configure anything under More Settiings
In the popup window, enter your Password then click OK (screenshot)
You should now see the Congratulations widow, click OK and your ready to read your e-mail (screenshot)
