What to do when creating a mail only alias and IMAP clients fail

If someone is using Eudora or Evolution as an IMAP client, usually it has been set up using their blazerid for the user name. If the user then decides to create a mail-only alias, in many cases, Eudora and Evolution will quit working and indicate a wrong user or password was entered. To correct this, try the following: instead of entering the blazerid for the user name, enter blazerid@uab.edu.

Enter blazerid@uab.edu for the user …

Note how the user name appears below…

After entering the password, they connect to their email.
