UAB Windows 2000 / Exchange 2000 Active Directory Project

Executive Summary

This site is the development site for the UAB Windows 2000 Exchange 2000 Active Directory Project. By its very nature, this is a site under development with many/most of its pages consider 'draft'.

Official Status

This was a project authorized by former UAB Vice President for IT Clair Goldsmith.

UAB Vice President Clair Goldsmith, upon recommendation of CISCnet, appointed a task force to look at the technical issues of deploying a cooperating Windows 2000/Exchange 2000 architecture.  The task force has now issued its final report which contain various recomendations including the recommendation to proceed to develop an Windows 2000 Active Directory infrastructure with an Exchange base to form the basis of cooperative deployment of Windows 2000 and Exchange 2000 by UAB units. The initial target for migration to this environment are the sites of the "UAB DOT" Exchange 5.5 Organization.

It is expected that additional projects will follow to facilitate additional Windows 2000 / Exchange 2000 deployments.
