Charlotte Hammond

Research assistant, Department of Psychiatry, University of Alabama at Birmingham

I joined the Meador-Woodruff lab on the first day of its arrival in April, 2006 as a research assistant (50%) and lab manager (50%).  Under the supervision of Dr. Robert McCullumsmith, most of my projects involve PCR and in situ hybridization used to analyze molecular abnormalities of schizophrenia disorder on human postmortem brain tissue.  As lab manager my duties are to ensure that this lab is in compliance with regulations of all University Occupational Health & Safety divisions; order all lab supplies, and to maintain a smooth day to day operation of the lab.
