Don’t Hate Hotline: UAB’s Don’t Hate Hotline, 1-877-ERACISM, is an outlet for students in the classroom, housing and on campus to voice concerns about discrimination, diversity and campus issues and personal rights violations.
The Public Health Student Association’s community organization for the year is Birmingham AIDS Outreach, which is sponsoring a Magic City AIDS Walk on Oct. 5 at 4 p.m. Table sits will be conducted in the HUC, Rec Center and Commons Sept. 2-4 in order to get more students involved. UAB Blazer Bucks may now be used at Sterne Library for printing and copying, and Sterne Venda cards are being phased out. You can add Blazer Bucks to your CampusCard, Employee ID or buy a Guest Card. Beginning Sept. 1, UAB will no longer add money to your Sterne Venda Card, and patrons will need to use any funds on the Venda Card before Dec. 31; those funds are not transferable to Blazer Bucks. You can add Blazer Bucks to your UAB CampusCard at the Value Transfer Station located near the Sterne Library circulation desk or online at campuscard.uab.edu. UAB students, faculty and staff are reminded that no firearms, ammunition or dangerous weapons are allowed in university buildings, parking decks or any other facilities at any time. A gun permit does not authorize you to bring a firearm onto UAB property under any circumstances. This includes guns in parked cars.
