French Scholarship
Le Club F and L'Alliance Française de Birmingham French Language Scholarship (Deadline: March 2nd)
Attention French Majors or Minors: This scholarship is provided by a generous donation from Le Club F (UAB's French Club) and the Alliance Française de Birmingham. A merit-based scholarship of $500.00 will be awarded to one student for French Language Study. Qualified students must:
- be officially registered as a French Major or French Minor at UAB (shown on transcript).
- have minimum 3.0 GPA.
- submit two letters of recommendation, at lease one letter being from a French Professor.
- submit unofficial UAB transcript.
- submit proof of enrollment (or pending enrollment) in a French language study abroad program.
- submit an essay in English of maximum 500 words (see prompt).

As English becomes an ever increasing global language, why is it still important and relevant to learn a foreign language, and particularly the French language?
