Below is a list of the charges for various services offered by Lister Hill Library. UAB Service Center guidelines require a tiered pricing structure depending on the requestor's status with UAB. All charges must also be re-examined and potentially re–adjusted every 6 months based on a prescribed formula.

Searches
Available free for UAB-licensed, in-house databases. Librarians also have access to
additional 'for-fee' databases. Searches of these databases are conducted on a cost-recovery basis. Charges for searches will be discussed before
the search is performed. Consumer health queries for a limited amount of material may be requested for free by Alabama citizens. See the Consumer Health guidelines or ask an Information Desk staff member for additional information.
Service Charge = 5% UAB surcharge is charged on all cash transactions Sales Tax = 10% sales tax is charged on all transactions unless proof of tax-exempt status is on file with Lister Hill Library. UAB = current UAB faculty, staff or students.
