| 1945 | . | Medical School moves from Tuscaloosa and opens in Birmingham |

| March 1945 | . | Mary Ament became librarian of the newly established Medical College of Alabama Library. She resigned three months later.* |
| Sept. 1945 | . | Mildred R. Crowe (Langner) became second librarian of the Medical College Library.* |
| Oct. 1945 | . | Medical College Library established in Hillman Hospital, 6th floor. |
| 1951 | . | Various Medical Center libraries, including the Medical and Dental Libraries were consolidated into one Medical Center Library under the direction of Chief Librarian Mildred R. Crowe.* |
| Sept. 13, 1952 | . | Medical Center Library reopened in its new space in the South Wing of the first and second floors of the New Hillman building.* |

| Oct. 19, 1971 | . | 'New' Medical Center Library building dedicated as "The Lister Hill Library of the Health Sciences" after Alabama's Senator Lister Hill. Sarah Cole Brown, who had served as chief librarian since 1955, became first director of the new Lister Hill Library of the Health Sciences.* |
