Quick Links to some Common Stops Description of Lister Hill Library The Lister Hill Library of the Health Sciences is the largest biomedical library in Alabama and one of the leading such libraries in the South. It serves as a Resource Library in the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NN/LM) for the Southeastern/Atlantic Region. The Lister Hill Library provides a wide array of services which include not only traditional collection development, cataloging, circulation, photocopy, collection access, information interpretation and instruction, but also a wide variety of online capabilities. The Library focuses on providing its services both within the building and remotely via telephone, modem, Internet, mail and fax. The broad scope of collections and full services are provided to the Library's primary users in the UAB Hospitals and Centers and the six schools of the UAB Academic Health Center: School of Dentistry, School of Health Related Professions, School of Medicine, School of Nursing, School of Optometry, and School of Public Health. Interdisciplinary support is provided to the other schools within UAB. In addition, as a NN/LM resource library, the Lister Hill Library also provides some services to Alabama health professionals, organizations, consumers seeking health information, and others. |
