May/June 2001A Star Among Us!Karen Wood was recognized as UAB's Employee of the Month for March. Karen, the library's Financial Associate, has worked in LHL for the past twelve years. The University and the library staff honored her with a reception at which she received a plaque, gifts, and a check. A special article in the UAB Reporter quoted several of the nominating letters from the staff. Among the quotes was one from Director T. Scott Plutchak. "Karen is as dedicated an employee as I have ever had the pleasure of working with, yet she is completely unassuming. She will take on any task and has earned the deep trust of the rest of the library staff. She certainly plays a critical role within the library, and through that role, within UAB as a whole." Congratulations to Karen! We are certainly fortunate to have her on our staff, and we think she deserves to be the UAB Employee of the YEAR! |
