GROUP STUDY ROOMS

One of the many additions to the new Lister Hill Library is an increased number of group study rooms. The study rooms are open and are being heavily used. The rooms (available on a first-come, first-serve basis)  may be used by UAB administration, staff, and students - anyone with a valid UAB I.D. There are eight group study rooms which seat six people each Computers with network connections are available in the rooms.

Reservations for the study rooms:

  • must be made at least two hours in advance:
  • are held for no more than 15 minutes
  • may be made for up to three hours per day.
Reservations may be taken either in person or over the phone.  The person making the reservation will need to provide the following information:
  • name and phone number;
  • date and time period desired;
  • number of people in group;
  • equipment needed.
Guidelines for use:
  • reservations take priority over walk-in users;
  • groups take priority over individuals;
  • no personal software may be installed on the computers;
  • no smoking, eating, and drinking in the rooms;
  • rooms are not intended to provide space for continuing activities such as classes or standing meetings;
  • the library cannot be responsible for items left in the rooms.

Those without reservations should check with staff  for room availability.
