July/August 1997LHL Staff Attend "Change" WorkshopEd Klee, of Nonesuch Training & Consultation, visited Lister Hill Library on April 18 to present a half-day workshop, "Becoming Resilient to Change: When Change Becomes the Constant and Time the Variable," The workshop focused on understanding and dealing with change. This was the first in a series of two workshops designed specifically for LHL staff in response to suggestions made at staff development brainstorming sessions last October. Ed Klee has Masters degrees in both Library science and Conflict Resolution. He offers training for organizations and libraries on a variety of subjects from time management to strategic planning. Ed Klee returned August 6th and 7th to present a one and one-half day workshop entitled, "Understanding Work Styles: Laying the Foundation for Communication and Cooperation." The August workshop included sessions on conflict resolution, consensus building, effective communication, and conducting better meetings. The staff also had the rare opportunity for uninterrupted discussions on ways to make the library a better place. |
