July/August 1997NEW INTERLIBRARY LOAN RATESAs of July 1, 1997, the cost for Interlibrary Loan will increase for UAB faculty, staff and students--the new charge is $5.00 up from $3.35. In determining increases (or decreases) in Interlibrary Loan charges, we have to consider current policies as dictated under UAB Service Center guidelines. We currently review the operating costs of the Interlibrary Loan department periodically to make the necessary adjustments in cost per item borrowed. Unfortunately, this will not be the only increase this year. As of October 1, 1997, the charge will increase to $10.00 per item borrowed.
