Kay Hogan Leads Alabama Health Librarians

Kay Hogan, Instructor, Lister Hill Library of the Health Sciences, presided over the seventeenth annual meeting of the Alabama Health Libraries Association (ALHeLA) when they met September 4 - 5 in Guntersville, Alabama. Ms. Hogan was elected to the presidency in September 1996 and has led the state organization since January 1997.

Before coming to Lister Hill Library in 1994 as an Information Services Librarian, Ms. Hogan was director of the McMahon-Sibley Library, Baptist Medical Center, Princeton. She also has held the position of Government Documents Librarian at Birmingham Public Library . She received a Master of Library Service Degree in 1985 from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa and is a member of Beta Phi Mu, the international library honor society. Ms. Hogan was the chief investigator for a grant recently awarded to ALHeLA to train health professionals around the state in the effective use of the Internet as an information tool. (The grant was sponsored by the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, Southeastern/Atlantic Region.)
