November/December 1997Changes in Collection Access ServicesThe staff is in the process of shifting the journals published in the 1980s from basement storage up to the ground floor, where they will be shelved in with the journals published in the 1990s. We will leave space on this floor for both new titles and 10 years'growth of the titles currently received. Additional information that is pertinent to titles will be found in the stacks area. The journals published from 1940 through 1979 will remain in the basement. Eventually, the journals we own that were published before 1940 will also be in the basement, instead of where they are currently housed in the Administration Building. The Current Display area is being expanded to include the most recent issues of all titles. Previously, this area contained only those titles that are most commonly used. We have made considerable progress, but a lot of work remains to be done. Your patience is appreciated. |
