March/April 1998Medical Subject Headings Updated for 1998The medical subject headings upon which Medline is based were updated for 1998 recently. There were 365 new headings added and 432 replaced with more up-to-date terminology. With the addition of the 1998 articles to Medline, the first database segment has changed from 1993 to the present to 1995 to the present. To search other years you can use the Medline 1966 to the present option. To see these changes in the Windows version of the software, you need to rerun OVID setup (see following article.)
