OVID Windows Software Upgraded

The OVID Client/Server software which runs in windows was also recently updated from 6.4 to 7.05. This means to use it, you must rerun OVID setup. How you do this depends on how the software was loaded onto your machine initially.

The main enhancement to the system is the ability to select more than one subheading from the initial list. To make sure this option is available, go to options on the menu bar, then choose default settings. The setting must be done for each database, so choose a database. Next choose mapping options and click on modify. The setting is called multiple selection of terms. Choose enable multiple selection. When you exit the default settings, be sure to click on save settings permanently, so you don't have to do this every time you go into OVID. If you have questions about updating your software or default settings, call the Information Desk at 934-2230.
