March/April 1999IT Day 1999 Kicks off in MayUAB will be hosting its 4th Annual Information & Technology Day on May 6th, 1999. This event is a demonstration of computer technology, networking, and automation and will be held in the Hill University Center Great Hall. UAB departments will be on hand to demonstrate their latest projects. Many vendors will also be showing off their latest technology, including Dell Computers, Ted Dasher & Associates, ACL Computers, Network Technology Resources, and Structured Data Systems. The event is open to the public from 10:00am-4:00pm and door prizes will be awarded throughout the day. There will also be many free seminars during the day in the Hill University Center Alumni Auditorium. 10:30am "Learning Technologies at UAB" --Mike McBride, LHL Learning Technologies 11:30am "The Alabama Research and Education Network & High Performance Computing in Alabama: Alabama's Best Kept Secrets!" -Wayne Whitmore, CEO, Alabama Supercomputing Authority 1:30pm "Beating Hearts and Falling Leaves: Computer Graphics and Visualization at UAB"- Profs.
