National Medical Librarians Month

Medical librarianship is a service profession. We help health care providers, students, faculty, and the community locate and retrieve health information about new medical treatments, clinical trials and standard trials procedures, tests, research, and equipment using electronic and print resources. Medical librarians also organize and classify resources so information seekers can better retrieve and use available resources.

Medical librarians are found in a number of different roles within the information setting such as Web managers, medical informatics experts, catalogers, instructors, reference librarians, and more!

Medical librarians can work in a variety of settings including...

hospitals, academic medical centers, and clinics
colleges, universities, and professional schools
consumer health libraries
research centers and foundations
industry
biotechnology
publishing
federal, state, and local government agencies
anywhere health information is needed

Find the Coupon All New!	Each week, the library will "hide" two coupons somewhere inside the library web site. One will be redeemable for a "study snack" the other worth $2.00-$5.00 off library services (free copy card, free document delivery, $5 off a fine or book fee). Find the coupon and follow the directions to use.
Snacks on the Plaza	Following last April's wildly successful event on the library plaza, we'll be out on October 13th from 10 am to 2 pm with snacks, music and library information. You might want to be sure to drop by at 11:30.
Join E-news and Win Look here for last April's Winners!	The library runs a distribution list called LHL E-news. We send a couple of messages a month about new services or tools that people may want to try. Joining is easy. Those who join in October will be eligible to win stuff from the library (free t-shirt anyone?)
