Group Study Room Reservation Policy

 

Who can reserve?

  • Groups of 2 or more with a valid UAB ID can reserve rooms 128, 132, 134, 145, 147, 149, and Lyons Room (153)
  • Room 164 is set up as a small classroom with eight workstation and an instructor station and projector.  This room is for larger groups (6 or more) or groups who need to use the equipment.
  • We apologize, but due to limited space, reservations are limited to UAB users only

What is available?

  • Seven group study rooms that seat 6 people
  • Each room has a networked computer and white board
  • Markers for white boards can be checked out at the HUB
  • Room 147 also has the collaboration station/mediascape
  • Room 164 is set up as a small classroom with eight workstation and an instructor station and projector.  This room is for larger groups (6 or more) or groups who need to use the equipment.

How long?

  • Reservations are limited to 3 hours per person per day
  • Rooms may be reserved for the current day and the next day only
  • Reservations are held 15 minutes for group to assemble
    • Any room that is vacant or occupied by 1 person is available for immediate group reservation
    • Leaving items in a room does not constitute a reservation

Restrictions:

  • Reservations take priority over walk-in users
  • Personal software may not be installed on computers in study rooms
  • Rooms are not intended for continuing activities such as classes or standing meetings
  • LHL is not responsible for items left in rooms
  • Room 164 is for larger groups (6 or more) or groups who need to use the equipment.

Procedures:

  • Reservations can be made in person, by phone (205-934-3306), & online
  • If reserving by phone, please provide the following information:
    • Name & phone number
    • Number of people in group
    • Date & time period (i.e., 2-5 pm)
