StoryCorps Interview: Mary Boehm and Alan Drennan

Mary Boehm and her father, Alan Drennan, talk about his experience as a city councilman in Birmingham, Alabama during the 1960s. Drennan and his friends took a stand against racial violence and segregation and made what he calls 'modest changes.' During this time, Drennan's own family was subject to frightening, threatening phone calls.  Recorded 1/15/2011
