Biography

Gino Cingolani received his Ph.D. in Structural Biology from the European Molecular Biology Lab in Grenoble, France. He did his post-doctoral training at The Scripps Research Institute. He joined the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics at UAB in 2023.

Research Interests

The Cingolani lab uses biophysical, biochemical, and cellular techniques to study the structure and function of biological macromolecules. We employ rigorous chemical and physical methodologies to solve medically relevant problems that help to decipher the most fundamental mechanisms of life and contribute to improving human health.
