Identifying hyperaldosteronism as a common cause of resistant hypertension
Demonstrating the broad benefit of mineralocorticoid receptor antagonism to treat resistant hypertension
Establishing that a high degree of salt sensitivity contributes importantly to resistance to antihypertensive therapies
Identifying aldosterone excess as an important mediator of severity of obstructive sleep apnea in patients with resistant hypertension
Demonstrating the ability of aldosterone antagonism to reduce severity of obstructive sleep apnea in patients with resistant hypertension
