Dr. Brott is the cofounder (along with Ho-Wook Jun, PhD, of the UAB Department of Biomedical Engineering) of Endomimetrics, LLC, a company that produces bionanomatrix coatings for cardiovascular stents and other medical implants. This coating works to lower the incidence of scarring and blood clots around these devices, thus increasing the lifespan and quality of life for patients.
