Equal Access Birmingham is a student-run free clinic affiliated with the University of Alabama Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine. This year, EAB has served over 700 patients, offering primary care, mental health services, medications, and follow-up laboratory workall at no cost. EAB also operates quarterly Women's Health and Dermatology specialty clinics where patients can receive pap smears and skin exams as well as monthly health screenings in the Birmingham community. When necessary, patients are connected with other Birmingham-area resources for care outside of our scope of practice. EAB also collaborates with other health professions students by hosting UAB School of Physical Therapy, Samford Pharmacy, and UAB Master of Social Work students weekly to increase the services offered to patients. Beginning in January 2023, UAB School of Optometry students will be offering eye exams monthly at EAB. All these services are made possible by a dedicated team of student-officers, student-volunteers, and faculty mentors!

EAB relies entirely on the generosity of donors like you. With each year, a new team of officers has embarked on ambitious projects to serve more patients. As our success in fundraising increases, we plan to offer Uber Health rides for patients without reliable transportation as well as more frequent Women's Health and Dermatology clinics. With your support, we will continue to provide care to the medically underserved in our community while being a unique service-learning opportunity for Heersink School of Medicine students. Thank you.
