The Center for Glial Biology in Medicine provides equipment and expertise to support UAB's Neuroscience investigators.  The CGBM has established and equipped three laboratory core facilities including a tissue processing and procurement facilities, a spinning-disk, confocol microscopy facility and a molecular targeting core facility.

The IDDRC Recombinant Technologies Core serves as a cost-effective, intellectual and technical focal point for the bench scientists who address issues of nervous system development and function that are germane or directly related to IDD.

The Neurobiology Imaging and Tissue Processing Core provides state-of-the-art equipment and technical support for experimental projects on the assembly and modulation of synaptic, neuronal, and glial structure and function. By sharing technical expertise, equipment, facilities, and professional staff, the Core facilitates cost-effective, cross-project collaborations.

The Developmental Genomics Core provides microarray analysis, high-throughput DNA sequencing, high-throughput genotyping and SNP analysis, bioinformatics resources.

The state-of-the-art Functional Neuroimaging Laboratory houses a 3T head-only Siemens Magnetom Allegra Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Spectroscopy scanner, optimized for neuroimaging applications.
