UAB Health Evaluations and Screenings


UAB health evaluations and screenings are organized by the MHRC and sponsored by the Alabama Underserved Health Partnership (AUHP). This project is a unique collaborative effort involving the UAB Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professions, Medicine, Nursing, Optometry, and Public Health; UAB University-Wide Centers: Health Promotion, Minority Health and Research, Vision Science Research; and the EyeSight Foundation of Alabama, established to facilitate efforts to improve the health status of underserved residents in Alabama. UAB faculty, staff, students and other volunteers convened to provide health screenings to members of the church, schools and community.

Health screenings offered include Family Health History, Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, Blood Sugar, Lung Function, Physical Activity Assessment, Eating Habits and Nutrition, Dental, Vision and Cancer Risk Assessment.
