Last month, the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery used its medical partnership with the Birmingham Legion FC to connect with local attendees at a UAB Orthopaedics community outreach table at the July 27 home game against the Charlotte Independence.

Staff gave away UAB Orthopaedics-branded soccer balls and encouraged potential new patients at the game to make an appointment with the clinic. The department will continue to host similar outreach events with the Legion FC team at future home games.

The department will host its next outreach tables during the UAB Family Night game on Aug. 17 and the Sept. 20 home game against the Indy Eleven.

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery prides itself in supporting the Birmingham community and is thankful to the dedicated staff and faculty who help at these events.
