Research Interests

Dr. Danila is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). She is an investigative rheumatologist with a particular focus on personalizing care of patients with rheumatic diseases. Dr. Danila has a special interest in improving quality of care of patients with chronic conditions, such as arthritis and autoimmune diseases, by implementing evidence-based recommendations into routine practice and optimizing treatment adherence. Her K23 NIAMS-funded patient-oriented career development award is focused on understanding the relationship between the human genome, the environment and the development and outcomes of rheumatoid arthritis in African Americans..
