Several faculty from the UAB School of Nursing have developed collaborative projects with schools of nursing in Brazil.  Faculty have served as visiting professors at the University of Sao Paulo in Ribeirao Preto and in Sao Paulo, and have also developed research collaborations with students and faculty in Brazil.  Nursing faculty from several schools of nursing in Brazil, as well as nurses and students in various institutions in Brazil have participated in the International Nursing Leadership programs offered every other year through the PAHO/WHO Collaborating Center on International Nursing.  In addition, students and faculty have participated as short-term visiting scholars at UAB focusing on projects such as simulation and development of skills in qualitative research.
