I came to the SON in 1990 as a research assistant after graduating from Samford University. I supervise the health screens conducted for the Good Health Program, a wellness program we have provided City of Birmingham employees since 1991. I also assist in the various intervention programs we offer which focus on reducing risks for developing cardiovascular disease (hypertension, obesity, diabetes, smoking, etc.). I enjoy coordinating the involvement of faculty and students in our program, as well as pulling resources and information together in order to promote optimal health for those involved in our program. It's very rewarding!
