Biography
Dr. Cho has been appointed as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the
Family/Child Health and Caregiving Department at the UAB School of Nursing since
August 1, 2008. Dr. Cho received her BSN and MSN degrees from Catholic
University and Yonsei University, both in Korea. After more than a decade of
clinical experience at a major medical center in Korea, Dr. Cho entered the
graduate program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of
Nursing, from which she received PhD in 2005. Dr. Cho was a recipient of a
two-year NIH Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill. Of numerous workshops she attended, two are significant: Grant
Writing and Teaching Excellence Institutes, University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill, and a Large-Scale Data Management in Washington, DC. Dr. Cho is a
member of SNRS and SRCD.

- Gender differences on infant health, cognitive and motor development
- Biological and social factors beyond gender on infant health and development
- Biomedical measurement
- Maternal depressive symptoms
- Attributes of child and mother for child development and school readiness
- Observational and longitudinal methods
- Large-scale data analysis
- Quality of childcare (parental and non-parental childcare arrangement) for child development and school readiness
- Intervention for medically at-risk infants and their mothers
