Carol J. UAB School of Nursing alumni and faculty named 2011 fellows of the American Academy of Nursing. In November 2011, Norma Cuellar, DSN ('97), RN, Susan Gaskins, DSN (’90), RRN, ACRN, Marcia Holstad, DSN ('96), FNP-BC, FAANP, Karen Morin, DSN ('87), RN, ANEF, and Martha Rice, PhD, RN (SON Faculty) will be come Fellows of the American Academy of Nursing at the annual meeting.

 The SREB stated that they honored Dr. Jean A. Kelley as a nurse educator who has made significant contributions to nursing education during the past decades.  Her contributions - as a teacher, mentor, leader and compassionate colleague - have enriched the careers of many graduates in the SREB states and throughout the nation.  Her commitment to excellence in nursing education and willingness to share her time, ideas and critiques are notable.  She continues to challenge nurse educators to move the rhythms of tomorrow today.

Kunaviktikul 2011 inductee of the International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame.  Wipada Kunaviktikul, DSN, RN, Chiang Mai University, Faculty of Nursing (Thailand)  is one of fifteen esteemed nurse researchers will be inducted into the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International’s (STTI) Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame. The prestigious award honors STTI nurse researchers from around the world who have achieved long-term, broad recognition for their work and whose research has had global or national impact on the profession and the people it serves.
