Phillips earns national occupational health award

Jennan A. Phillips, Ph.D., R.N., assistant professor in the Department of Community Health, Outcomes and Systems, director of occupational health nursing in the UAB Deep South Occupational Health & Safety Education and Research Center and senior scholar in the WHO Nursing Collaborating Center at the UAB School of Nursing, has been selected for one of two 2013 American Association of Occupational Health Nurses (AAOHN) Nurse in Washington Internship Awards.

These awards provide $2,500 for members of AAOHN to participate in the program and learn about the legislative process from health policy experts, members of Congress and other government officials during the next session of the Nurse in Washington Internship Program Washington, D.C., March 17-19, 2013. The program is sponsored by the Nursing Organizations Alliance, an umbrella group of national nursing organizations, including AAOHN.
