Sharpe named to NANN Board of Directors

liz sharpeElizabeth Sharpe, DNP, ARNP, NNP-BC, VA-BC, Assistant Professor in the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing has been selected to serve on the National Association of Neonatal Nurses (NANN) Board of Directors as the Director-at-Large. Sharpe will begin her term after the NANN Annual Educational Conference in Phoenix, Ariz., Sept. 10-13, 2014.

Sharpe is a doctor of nursing practice (DNP) graduate from Northeastern University in Boston where she focused on the positioning of Neonatal Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICCS) and the risk of associated complications.

Sharpe earned her master's in nursing from Vanderbilt University, her bachelor of science in nursing at Florida Atlantic University, and her bachelor of science in health records administration from Temple University.

The NANN was formed in 1984 with the purpose of addressing the educational and practice needs within the evolving specialty of neonatal nursing, while giving all neonatal nurses national representation.
