Dunn to serve on national nurse-midwife committee

Dunn Donna 4University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing Assistant Professor Donna Dunn, PhD, CRNP, CNM, FNP-BC, was recently appointed to a two-year term on the Membership & Marketing Committee of the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM).

Dunn, coordinator of the School’s Dual Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Specialty Track, has been a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives organization since 2002 and currently serves as president of the Alabama State Affiliate. She previously served as vice president of the Alabama State Affiliate as well.

She has been a certified nurse-midwife (CNM) for 13 years and a family nurse practitioner for 11 years.

“This is an exciting time as we are trying to increase the membership of ACNM,” Dunn said. “We know there are CNMs out there who are not members, and we want to reach them. Likewise, we are trying to get the word out about the great services that ACNM offers as well as the services of CNMs.”

Dunn earned her PhD from the School in 2013.
