Welcome to Alliance for the Development and Advancement of Pain Treatment (ADAPT) web site. ADAPT is an initiative that was established by the Comprehensive Neuroscience Center at UAB in 2011. An interest in pain mechanisms and pain treatment crosses multiple disciplines which is reflected in the current membership: Anesthesiology, Psychology, Neurology, Radiology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Neurobiology and more. Come join us so we can add to the list.
The purpose of ADAPT is to coordinate and foster a strong pain-based research and educational program. To this end we are hosting a Spring Pain Research Symposium, generating web-based materials to help new pain researchers get started and working towards the goal of better understanding and treatment of pain.
