AAP Sections are going on-line on the AAP Home Page with the assistance of AAP Division of Sections staff. AAP Sections Òon-lineÓ will speed information dissemination to section members, enhance networking among section members, and aid in the recruitment of new members. Potential members can browse and Òsample the waresÓ of SCOT or other Sections.
Stuart Weinberg is our current, able SCOT Webmaster. SCOT will continue to have itÕs own web site which will be linked with the AAP Home Page. SCOT members who are willing and interested in assisting Stuart with the SCOT Web Page should let us know. Additional opportunities exist to provide technical assistance to other Sections. Please consider volunteering for this task.
AAP Section Web pages will use a basic template to reduce the amount of HTML coding required. The following topics will be standard based upon a survey of Section Chairs:
The section Web Manager will receive pre-coded and pre-named template files containing the page headers and footers in HTML coding as well as guidelines for submitting information. Using cut and paste techniques, the section Web Manager will place section information into the files and send the completed templates to AAP Web Master Bob Mitcheff. After review and approval of the information, AAP Web Master Bob Mitcheff will post the information on the AAP Home Page site.
If you need more information before volunteering, please contact Anne McGhiey by e-mail at <amcghiey@aap.org> or by phone at 800/433-9016 ext 7658.
