Technology : Treatment Planning and Delivery : CT Simulators

CT Simulators are used to gather detailed images of the body. These images are transported into the treatment planning system. Once the treatment planning process is complete, this plan is used to direct the delivery of the radiation treatment. UAB currently owns GE and Philips CT simulators, in addition to a Varian simulator, and utilizes a variety of treatment planning processes, including Varianís ARIA and HDR planning tools, TomoTherapy, and others.
