21st Century Literacies Conference: Connecting the Dots with Nonfiction across the Content Areas

Conference Highlights

Kylene Beers, a former middle school teacher, is the author of When Kids Can’t Read—What Teachers Can Do (Heinemann, 2002) and co-author with Bob Probst of Notice and Note: Strategies for Close-Reading (Heinemann, 2012).

Robert (Bob) Probst is the author of Response and Analysis (Heinemann, 2004) and co-author with Kylene Beers of Notice and Note: Strategies for Close Reading (Heinemann, 2012).

Sue Wilder is a National Consultant with the Developmental Studies Center (DSC), a non-profit organization in Oakland, CA.

In addition to the keynote speakers, the conference offers a variety of workshops for teachers of grades K-12 concerning non-fiction reading and writing in today’s classrooms.
