Ms. Stedman originally joined UAB in 1999 and brings 20+ years of private sector and independent research institute experience in industry and government contracts, contract manufacturing, financial analysis and business management.  After a brief tour on campus in the Center for Biophysical Sciences and Engineering (CBSE) she returned to the Office of Grants and Contracts Administration (OGCA) in October 2006 as the Manager of the Industry and Federal Contracts area, was promoted to Associate Director in April 2008, and has served as Director of the Office of Sponsored Programs (OGCA was recently renamed) since being promoted in March 2010.  Ms. Stedman has a BS degree in Accounting with a concentration in programming and data processing from Athens State University and a MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  Ms. Stedman is a member of the UAB Alumni Association, Delta Mu Delta, Society of Human Resources Management, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Birmingham Emmaus Community (an ecumenical non-profit organization), is an Associate Member of the Marine Corp League Detachment, Birmingham, Alabama and resides in Shelby County.
