Summary Information

A postdoctoral fellowship position is available in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Institute of Oral Health Research. Projects involve understanding the molecular pathogenesis of human oral cancers and tumors in order to facilitate the development of targeted therapies. The applicant should be able to critically evaulate data, troubleshoot experiments, write scientifically, and work with undergraduate and graduate students in the laboratory. Projects will include cell culture and molecular biology techniques, and novel animal models.

Eligibility:
Applicants should have the following:
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.
  • Clinical or research doctoral degree required (e.g. MD, DMD, PharmD, PhD, ScD, DrPH, or equivalent).
  • Basic or clinical research experience in any of the following themes: Development and Genetics, Molecular Biology, Tumor Biology, or related discipline.
Details:
  • Funding for Postdoctoral Trainee is supported through an NIDCR T90 Institutional Training Grant.
  • NIH stipend support based on years' post-degree renewable for up to 3 years, with annual review.
  • Partial coverage of tuition and health insurance fees.
  • Travel support to attend meetings.
