UAB Learning System
The UAB Learning System is the new training management system used by employees at UAB for all IACUC training requirements.
**News for UAB 'employed' students and volunteers! Beginning July 2, 2012 - you will no longer need to obtain a special account for access to the UAB Faculty & Staff Learning System. Individuals in any UAB employment assignment category will be AUTOMATICALLY uploaded to the Learning System.**
IACUC Training Course Requirements for All Animal Users
1. Using Animals for Teaching, Testing, and Research- everyone working with animals and/or listed on an IACUC protocol must complete this course. There are 4 modules and 4 quizzes in this course.
2. Species Training- you must complete each training course for every species with which you will be working. These courses have 1 module and 1 quiz per course.
3. Employee Health Enrollment- everyone working with animals and/or listed on an IACUC protocol must enroll in the Employee Health Program. The instructions, eligibility requirements and the enrollment form can be found at http://www.healthsafe.uab.edu/pages/emphealth/emphealth.html.
4. Rodent Surgery Training- if you will be performing either survival or nonsurvival surgery in rats or mice you must complete this course. There are 3 modules and 2 quizzes in this course.
