  • New NSF Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide (NSF 17-1)

    A new version of the NSF Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide (PAPPG), (NSF 17-1) has been issued. The new PAPPG will be effective for proposals submitted, or due, on or after January 30, 2017. The existing PAPPG (NSF 16-1) will continue to apply in the interim.
    Webinars to review the changes are scheduled for November 7th and January 19th at 1 PM EST. Webinar registration is required on the outreach events website. Questions about the changes should be directed to the NSF Policy Office on (703) 292-8243 or by email to

  • eRA News - Update Browsers by Nov. 30; New Security Mandates

    On November 30, 2016, all eRA modules will require ‘https only’ secure connections as mandated by the Office of Management and Budget for all federal agencies. Affected modules include:
    Some older internet browser versions may not support ‘https only’ secure connections. To ensure an optimal experience with eRA modules, please update internet browsers as per the eRA Browser Compatibility statement.

  • OSP Makes it Easier to Find Your Contact

    The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) recently improved and diversified available resources aiding UAB’s research community in contacting the appropriate OSP officer or specialist based on your organization and submission.
    OSP Workload Distribution by Organization
    Our Contact Us page now hosts a new OSP Workload Distribution by Organization Report (PDF). The report functions as a directory containing columns for the officer and specialist representing each area within OSP (e.g. Federal, Industry) and rows for each department or division. Simply locate the row for your organization and scan right until you find the officer or specialist corresponding to the sponsor type of your submission.
