NEWS AND EVENTS

Walk for Lupus Now 2008—The Lupus Foundation of America is sponsoring a 5K walk to raise money to increase awareness of and enable lupus research.  The event will be held Saturday, September 27, 2008 at Kelly Ingram Park, Birmingham, AL.  For more information, please click here.

 

UAB, Children’s Hospital, and the Arthritis Foundation welcome Pediatric Rheumatologists—UAB, Children’s Hospital, and the Birmingham Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation are especially excited to welcome Drs. Randy Cron and Timothy Beukelman, our new pediatric rheumatologists, filling a void in Alabama open since 2002. The successful recruitments are the result of major fund raising both locally and throughout the state.

 

Alabama Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation awards the Division with a 3-year gift totalling $150,000 to fund TETRAD (Tratment Efficacy and Toxicity in Rheumatoid Arthritis Database), a biorepository of DNA and serum from RA patients that will be a resource for researchers to study treatment responses.
