Service learning is integral to Goal 1 of UAB's Strategic Plan to "provide a student-centered, collaborative learning experience to prepare diverse students for rewarding careers and lives that benefit society and our regional and global economy."

The Office for Service Learning collaborates with students, faculty, staff and community partners to ensure quality service-learning experiences that accomplish student learning objectives and satisfy community needs.
