Wells Fargo Foundation Educational Matching Gift Program

SHPB extWe are halfway to our building campaign goal of $6 million. Generous people like you have contributed $3 million through pledges to the building campaign, scholarship support and planned giving. We cannot thank our supporters enough for recognizing their gift’s impact on future generations of health care leaders and on the future of health care itself.

DEDICATION CEREMONY: The School of Health Professions welcomed approximately 150 people to the building dedication ceremony on Friday, October 11, 2013. To read the full story and see the pictures click here.

Three programs in the School of Health Professions (SHP) rank among their respective Top 20 in the nation. The Master of Science in Health Administration is ranked 5th; the Ph.D. in Nutrition Sciences is Top 10; Physical Therapy is Top 20. However, this is the first time in years the school has facilities equal to faculty and student's excellence.

“If you really want to get the best of the best students, you need to be able to point out that we have world class facilities that complement our world class faculty.”
~Leigh Tiffin, MSHA student (Class 47)

The total cost of adding two floors to the SHP building is $13 million but we only need to raise $6 million. You will be hard pressed to find a return on investment that more than doubles your gift.

Since 2001, our student population has increased from 1,100 students to more than 1,900. The school's research funding has nearly quadrupled. Programs are spread around multiple buildings across UAB's campus. Expansion is necessary for current, but more importantly, future growth.

There are so many ways to give: naming opportunities, commemorative opportunities, class challenges, stocks and bonds, planned giving, make a pledge, donate online and the list goes on. We only ask that you give. Whether it is a little or a lot - leave a legacy. Inspire others. Make a difference. Contribute Now.
