This is a title that is not given - it is earned by those who exceed expectations and serve as models of excellence for colleagues by completing all five courses in the UAB Diversity Education program. provided by the UAB Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ODEI).

Become a Champion

Anyone in our School can join these leaders and become an SHP DEI Champion. Simply visit the UAB Diversity Education program and complete the five offered courses. They are offered totally online and are free to UAB employees. In honor of your achievement - and to show everyone you are a role model for all in SHP - you will receive a door magnet (see image to right) and a lapel pin.

Submit Your Documentation

In order to report your success, please follow these simple steps to access the SHP DEI Intranet:

1. Go to https://www.uab.edu/shp/home/ 

2. From the top right hand menu tab, click SHP Quicklinks. Scroll down and select SHP Intranet from the drop down menu. 

3. Using the top menu bar, select the drop down menu next to Committees and click on DEI. 

4. Click the folder DEI Resources. Next, select the folder ODEI Training Certificate Completion. 

5. Open the Excel document titled ODEI Training Documentation.xlsx and enter your training and dates.
