Manuel F. Olivera is Director in Colombia of the Clinton Climate Initiative (CCI) and Director in Latin America of the Hybrid Test Bus Program, an initiative financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and supported by several cities and private partners.


Along more than 28 years of professional experience he has been assessing high level decisions making, and obtaining results in several environmental fields mainly related to cleaner production, urban ecology and development and climate change. This has taken place in private and public positions such as Manager of Environmental Affairs of the National Industrialist Association in Colombia, Director of the environmental authority of Bogota D.C., as consultant for IDB, the World Bank, UNDP, WWF, and also as advisor of several Latin American governments at national and local levels.


Within C40-CCI activities several projects aiming emission reduction of green house gases have been supported by Mr. Olivera including methane capture of the sanitary landfill in Bogota, traffic lights LED retrofitting, public lights retrofitting to LED, diesel fuel quality improvement, TransMilenio operational improvement, and more recently testing hybrid and electric buses and fostering the use of electric vehicles.
